That was the beginning of a career with local radio. During Michelle’s career to date Michelle has worked on BBC Radio Lincolnshire, Compass FM and Lincs FM on and off the air close to her first love, music. She has even had the chance to meet and interview one of the men responsible for writing one of the best selling singles ever to grace the UK charts! Mr Midge Ure, after interviewing him Michelle got the chance to meet him where she presented him with his favourite tipple a can of cider, much to his surprise!
Michelle teaches Key Skills and Additional Learning Support to students at Access to Music ensuring that every session has a spring in its step whilst offering valuable advice regarding the media industry. Whilst teaching Michelle also continues to broadcast on a variety of radio stations in the area on a freelance basis and you may have heard her on a variety of local advertising campaigns as she records various voiceovers from her ISDN studio.
Michelle Lee Harris: Key Skills and Additional Learning Support
Every since a young age Michelle has had a theatrical enthusiasm for music. Examples of this obsession could be seen from an early age whether it was putting different shades of ink pen over her nose in the style of Adam Ant (much to her mother’s delight!), or using grandma’s curtains to fashion up an outfit like a young Madonna, music was never far from her thoughts.
After studying firstly at Drama School where she learnt to generally show off, Michelle realised that working in the media was more to her taste. Soon she found herself helping backstage at events like Smash Hits Poll Winners Party, Party in the Park and Oasis at Wembley when she was working as an assistant for a London based TV Company. After this she was lucky to get work in herself on Lite FM in Peterborough working on a sports show. With a non-existent interest or knowledge of sport this was an interesting time and after much begging pleading and a lot of tea making Michelle was given her own show on the station.
